The Adoption Process
Here is all you need to know to get you started on our adoption process and learn about how we together go about your chosen dogs journey home to you. Most of LIFE’s adopted dogs nowadays go gratefully and enthusiastically to retired older adopters. This includes some of our older dogs too so it’s a win win!
Every genuine enquiry is given time and more time to talk everything through so that with Lucy’s depth of knowledge on every dog she’s ever rescued we can make sure that your dog choice is absolutely perfectly ideal for you. We don’t ask for long tedious application forms to be completed because we want to get to know your firsthand experiences and dog wishes. Then help to get you all set up for the arrival of your lifetime pet, an end to loneliness with a rewarding purpose to every day and to also welcome you into our LIFE family.
All are subject to landlord, leasehold permission etc. For aged single person applications we ask for a readily accessible back up person should the need arise. After their rescue, assessment, good feeding, vet work, handling, neutering, vaccinations, walking on the lead and socialising the dogs are ready for adoption! All the dogs come with big grateful loving hearts.
LIFE welcomes genuine enquiries for adoption from caring, committed, kind and compassionate people of all ages and lifestyles. For more information, to apply for available dogs at LIFE looking for their forever homes do please make contact by messenger from the page or the contact form from the LIFE Website. We would love to hear from you, assist you from your initial contact to keeping in touch for years to come after your chosen forever canine friend is safely delivered to you. After hearing of your interest then we can discuss over messenger or by a WhatsApp call informally to get to know you, your lifestyle and find the right dog for you regarding size, age, energy level, compatibility with other animals etc.
Then an easy to complete application form from Lucy and Homecheck or usually a video call. Once your special dog has been chosen, application completed and reserved we request a £100.00 non refundable donation. This goes towards your chosen pets Vet work, neutering, vaccinations, passport, handling, feeding and a travel harness..
Once we have an agreed time regarding your dog being ready to travel anywhere in Europe then a booking is made with our always used pet courier company. Your dog is collected from Lucy at LIFE with all their vaccinations etc ready for customs boarder crossing as in to U.K. at Calais. To U.K. the transportation fee is currently £440.00 - to your door is a little more than the flat fee to a local pick up point! LIFE takes non of the transport fee, it is paid to transport on arrival of your pet.
On the journey to you, we are kept updated by road tracker and stay available forever afterwards and invite you to join our fabulous private group of ‘Second Chancers’ where we stay updated as often as you wish to with every cherished person who has a LIFE dog or many in their household…
Rescue back up (RBU) is available for all the dogs.
